This list has been last updated on July 9th, 2025 based on the information released in Dune: Awakening’s Discord and Known Issues page on Steam.

Important

  • (new) Traveling between maps or logging in or out may sometimes lead to apparent loss of recently acquired items in storage inventories (Ornithopter & Storage Container).
  • (new) We are aware of a few methods that can lead to duplication of items. We are working on addressing them and identifying bad actors who abused these methods.
  • If you’re experiencing crashes, freezing, or slowdowns, see Funcom's article here for troubleshooting.
  • If you launch the game and find no servers available, please try the following:
    • Restart your client.
    • Click the change region button then select the appropriate region.
  • Completing “Searching for Answers” may lead to a loss of your ornithopter.

Technical and Stability

  • (new) In rare circumstances, traversing between Deep Desert sectors can lead to a disconnection from the server or a crash.
  • (new) In rare circumstances, some players may be met with a H74 Connection Error when logging back into the game.

User Interface

  • Certain content in the Deep Desert is missing a 3D representation on the UI map.
  • Arrakeen City Locations and Harko Village map markers are categorized as vendors in the Filter menu and cannot be filtered using the Locations filtering option.
  • The inventory preview of Armor and Stillsuit pieces does not go back to their original swatch color in the Inventory menu when selecting the default swatch after setting a custom swatch.
    • Workaround: Reopening the inventory should correct it.
  • The Journey Card controller Track keybinding [Y] is not functional.
  • The camera cannot be panned while zoomed in on the map of Harko Village and Arrakeen.
  • (new) Party markers may stop functioning correctly when party members are traversing or in different sectors of the Deep Desert.

Deep Desert, Endgame, & Landsraad

  • Ornithopter animation can stutter when crossing a border in the Deep Desert.
  • Captured Control Point is not displaying the logo of the faction currently controlling it.
  • The large Spice Field disappears abruptly at the beginning of the Ringmouth Worm attack.
  • The CHOAM Refining Contract decree that reduces the refining time by 75% applies only to the first and the last item in the crafting order queue.

Combat

  • Re-entering the Hunter-Seeker skill icon - Mentat Ability from the Assasination skill tree in Dune: Awakening. Hunter-Seeker right before it expires causes functionality loss.
  • The Knee Charge skill icon - Swordmaster Ability from the The Way skill tree in Dune: Awakening. Knee Charge Ability is not cancelled when doing certain actions.
  • You will spawn in DBNO if you wait long enough on the respawn screen before respawning.

Vehicles

  • The Ornithopter wings can have some visual issues when motion blur is disabled.
  • The mining laser of the Buggy will keep firing even after exiting the vehicle or switching seats while the laser is running.
    • Workaround: Fire the laser from the turret seat once more.
  • The chassis on vehicles that are not fully assembled get immediately destroyed when hit by a sandstorm.
  • The Carrier’s Side Hull Hologram belonging to the Right Side is displayed on the Left Side.

Graphics, Animations, and VFX

  • Tattoos are shown in low resolution the first time you go through them in Character Creation or when switching from one tab to another.
  • Coriolis wind VFX is present inside the Trial of Aql altar rooms.
  • The background can be missing/not properly loaded during dialogue with Seron Varlin in the “A Tormented Soul” and “Art of the Sword” contracts.
  • Character animation breaks upon switching from one sword to another while performing a basic attack.
    • Workaround: Swapping tools/weapons.
  • The player character twitches unnaturally multiple times during the Interrogation cinematic.
  • Camera flickering during the conversation with Elara Tuek during the “A Tormented Soul” swordmaster trainer contract.

Worldbuilding and Exploration

  • Sandworm Stare animation may stutter and replay upon successfully escaping a chase attack.
  • There are cases where the boss for Testing Station no. 2 won’t spawn.
  • We’ve understood that some people do not understand that their actions have consequences and have chosen to kill their mentor before completing their training. Ignoring several warnings. Now they are upset that they can no longer train. The Sisterhood has heard your mewling acolytes. We will provide an opportunity for you to continue your training in a future patch – but we expect you learn a valuable lesson about the price of betrayal.

Resources, Building, and Crafting

  • Unable to continue mining using the Cutteray if the Buggy Mining Laser Beam was used on the resource node prior, and vice versa.
  • Building structures can be snapped under the surface.
  • Abandoning/deleting one of your sub-fiefs will not change the spawn point to the other one available.

  • The map marker for the second step of “Price of Betrayal” faction contract is not present on the map after the player reaches the Spiral Deserter outpost.
  • “Betray The Atreides” contract cannot be completed if the player exits the dialogue after giving Maxim the letter.
  • The UI progress bar for the objective of faction contracts doesn’t get updated if the player dies.
  • The Damasteel Sword permit can be lost after you die and don’t recover your backpack, locking you out of the swordmaster contract.
  • (new) In rare cases, players may be unable to deliver the hilt for the Advanced Swordmaster quest when completing previous steps while in a party.

Other

  • In rare cases, when you enter a Trial of Aql or other single-player story mission in a party, the party may break upon returning to the Hagga Basin map.
  • Some players may occasionally disconnect with an error message stating that they were kicked due to an anti-cheat violation.
  • Some players may be experiencing performance issues due to the BattleEye’s interaction with DisplayFusion.
    • Workaround: Disable DisplayFusion and relaunch the game.
  • Using the “unstuck” button while in a vehicle will not function.

Disappearing Items

Earlier on July 9th Funcom hotfixed an issue that was causing some items to move or disappear in your inventory when you logged into a map. This regression was caused by the fix for the durability exploit which was released on Friday.

The specifics of the bug is that if you swapped items between two different inventories those items might “stack” in the database. Both items appeared to be fine on your client, but the first time you initialize your inventory by logging into the game or traveling to a new map, it will only display one of the stacked items. The hidden item is still there, but can not be displayed on the client.

In order to manually fix this you need to have the inventory slot where the items stacked empty when you log into the game. The easiest way to do this is:

  1. Player inventory – Remove all items from your inventory, log out of the game for at least 30 seconds, log back in.
  2. Items in the hotbar – Same as above, remove all hotbar slots, log out for 30 seconds, and log back in.
  3. Vehicle/Storage inventory – These are more difficult since you can’t restart the server yourself. Your two options are to remove all items and destroy the storage box. The hidden item will spawn on the floor in an “empty” loot container. Make sure you have room in your personal inventory, then use loot all on the loot container. Proceed to log out for 30 seconds, then log back in will reveal the item. Alternatively you can remove items from the storage/vehicle inventory and wait for a server reset.

Funcom will also try to fix this on their side during the next patch downtime.

Funcom is actively looking into other inventory loss on map change, and will update as they have more information.

Should I Still Report Issues that are on the Known Issues List?

During a recent Reddit AMA with Funcom developers, Kamil Wojtas, Senior Lead Community Developer responded to this question, saying: “Great question! The list of known issues is not exhaustive and does not capture every bug. We focus on the most common and impactful issues and update the list regularly.

Regardless of whether a bug is on the list, we encourage players to report them. Bug reports provide valuable information that our QA teams use to fix issues and help us determine how many players might be affected.”
