As outlined in their official announcement earlier today, Funcom has just released a major Dune: Awakening patch 1.1.0.17 – already jokingly known as “The Deep Desert PVE Patch”.
This hotfix, after a short testing period in the Public Test Server, overhauls the Deep Desert, making it more PvE friendly, as outlined in external_link url=”https://awakenedbyspice.com/news/dev-diaries/letter-from-the-creative-director-joel-bylos-on-pve-and-pvp/” text=”a recent letter from the game’s Creative Director Joel Bylos” noopener=”true” blank=”true”].
One of the biggest changes is that the PvE area now encompasses the whole southern half of the Deep Desert (up to the middle-point of row E), not just the Shield Wall on the A row.
Another change, that is bound to leave a lot of PvE players happy, was reducing the speed of Ornithopters that have rocket module equipped. This change ensures that even Tier 4 Scout Ornithopters will be able to safely outrun all (including the Tier 6 ones) Ornithopters that carry rocket modules, making it easier to disengage from combat and flee to safety.
Funcom promised to continue monitoring the situation and further iterations when and as needed. Visit our breakdown of the full patch notes of 1.1.0.17 for an overview of all the changes brought by this patch.
